RL/SS in other fests
I'm following a few different fests this year aside from Snupin Santa: HP Yule Balls, Harry Holidays, Kinky Kristmas, and Snapely Holidays. Some RL/SS has popped up already, so I thought I'd do a periodic link round-up of RL/SS gifts posted in other fests throughout the month. If anyone is following other fests and spots some RL/SS, please feel free to do the same!

Rated: Coal and Switches (NC17)
Warnings: Canon characters pop in and out of the story, and while (hopefully) the personalities are true to canon, the relative ages aren't.

Snupin Santa recs
Once again this year, I'm collecting Snupin Santa recs! Any story or art that is recced 3 times is eligible to be a Hot Rec in the Daily Snitch newsletter, which has a readership of around 550 on Insanejournal and a readership of over 4000 on Livejournal. I'll also be submitting recs to snapenews.
So if you've recced any Snupin Santa story or art, please drop me a comment here. I'll be keeping track of what's been recced how many times based on the comments I get, because unfortunately, there's no way I can scan every RL/SS shipper's journal looking for recs. If you want to see your favorites from this year's fest featured in the biggest HP fandom journal-based newsletters, you need to give me those recs!
I do need a URL that I can send to the newsletters to prove there are 3 different recs for any given story/art, so squee in email, IM, or the chatroom won't cut it.
I'll post a call for recs at least once a week throughout the fest.

Story: "Terrific Two's Summer of Mystery!", for skitty-kat
Title: Terrific Two's Summer of Mystery!
For: skitty-kat
From: Your Secret Snupin Santa
Rated: NC17
Summary: Prompt: An Enid Blyton-style porn fic. It's the summer hols and there are adventures to be had! There are mountains to climb, islands to explore and caves to be delved into and for two young men it is the summer of their sexual awakening. Amid ginger beer, ham sandwiches and good clean fun (while dressed in jerseys, shorts and rubber-soled shoes) Remus and Severus discover more to life than hidden passageways *ahem*, buried treasure *ahem* and getting one's mouth round a juicy pork pie *ahem*. Whoever knew you could have so much fun in a tent? Bonus points for criminals with revolvers! (they always have revolvers)
Warnings: poorly rendered British regional accents, and perhaps not quite as porny as you might have liked.
Notes: Apologies to Susan Cooper, Arthur Ransom, "The Comic Strip Presents..." and anyone who actually knows Cornwall. No apologies to Enid Blyton, however. (An excellent prompt skitty! I'm still tempted by the Flash Gordon one, as well. How can you go wrong with a villain called Emperor Voldeming?)

Minestrone
Title: Takes the Cake
Author/Artist: Arionrhod, MacKay
Excerpt: With a pen containing an edible ink, Remus began to carefully write out on the delicate paper his recipe for minestrone soup, a time consuming task, but one that he thought would be well worth the effort.
Commentary: Well, it is self-evident why I chose this recipe, isn't it? And this recipe of "Minestrone con Pesto" is one of my favourites, I thought it could well be Remus' too. The instructions are a bit long, I doubt they would fit on a small piece of rice paper, but maybe he was summarizing it!

I recommend it Heartily to you and Draco our Son. – excerpted from a letter of Captain Lucius Malfoy as recounted in "The Voyage of HMS Leviosa" by the inimitable busaikko.

Recipe Project: Rosemary Focaccia
Title: Troth
Author: celandineb
Excerpt:
It wasn't a wizarding restaurant, nor even a particularly high-class Muggle establishment for that matter. Cheap and mediocre Italian was the cuisine on offer, but the place close by and perfectly adequate for the days when neither of them felt like cooking. Severus confessed to liking the tagliatelle alla bolognese, while Remus was fond of the bread basket placed on every table. The owner's son was the baker, and the bread was always hot, fresh, and delicious.
Commentary: Bread. Good Italian bread with rosemary - how can you go wrong? And I would totally have Remus's response to Severus, having been fed this bread first. (Well, I would anyhow, but you know what I mean.

Recipe Project: Cheese and Onion Pie
Title: Breaking Bread Together
Author: celandineb
Excerpt:
Remus glanced down and realised that he had reached across the table and taken Severus's hand in his enthusiasm. It was warm and bony and he could feel the calluses on Severus's skin before he hastily let go, murmuring an apology. To cover his embarrassment, he took a sip of wine. Severus had already had a bottle open, and it was excellent.
They changed conversational topics to the less sensitive one of Quidditch as they ate the main course, another dish that Remus had never had and that Severus called a quiche. It was a sort of an egg pie, with bacon and onions and cheese mixed into the egg, and seasoned with subtle herbs as well. Like the rest of the meal, the flavour was simply marvellous, so much so that Remus was unembarrassed about asking for a second slice. Accompanying the quiche were cooked tomatoes, their sweet acidity complementing its richness.
Severus, not having taken an additional helping, finished eating first, and watched Remus as he ate his last few bites, again with that inscrutable expression on his face. Remus's breath quickened under the heated gaze, and when he laid down his knife and fork, aligning them neatly on his plate, he ran his tongue over his lips to see how Severus would react.
Commentary: Again, not exactly what Severus cooked, but I don't make real quiches. *g* This onion pie has onions and cheese and tomatoes (although no bacon) so it's kind of a combination of the two dishes mentioned in the story.
